I have spent much of my career travelling around Europe and the USA working in international marketing, mainly in the music and hotel industries. Fluency in French, German and Spanish plus a Marketing Degree made this not just possible but highly enjoyable.
Lots of fun. Lots of stress. Far too many hours in airports and on planes. Lots of luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants. And many amazing experiences and people.
I’m now bringing together many of my passions, and building on my experience and knowledge, working within an industry that I have called home for almost 30 years.
Here’s my story:
My love of football, which started when England won the World Cup in 1966, surprisingly led to my passion for healthy eating. Football legend Sir Stanley Matthews came to my home town to open a health food store, and I accompanied my mum solely to get his autograph. However, his talk about healthy eating changed my life forever.
My love of international travel started around this time too, with a family holiday to Spain. I subsequently studied French, German & Spanish, but then chose as my degree a BSc Hons in Management Sciences, specialising in Marketing. The psychology of buyer behaviour particularly fascinated me. And not surprisingly my dissertation was on the marketing of Switzerland as a tourist destination to the UK market.
As I increasingly spent more of my time conducting training, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) became an integral part of my life, leading to me studying with the likes of Richard Bandler, Michael Neill and Paul McKenna to become a Master Practitioner of NLP. The final piece of my professional jigsaw fell into place in 2018 when I qualified as a Nutrition Adviser, including Sports Nutrition, Vegan & Plant-based diets and Childhood Nutrition.
I am now proud and happy to call myself a Lifestyle Consultant to the hospitality industry.
I will work with hotels to develop & market healthier food offerings, and deliver Workplace Wellness Programmes to their teams.
